Duftite on Dioptase

Item Description

The big Dioptase crystals on this Tsumeb piece are heavily and selectively coated by rich, medium green microcrystals of Duftite. Over a dozen Dioptase crystals up to 2 cm in length are mostly covered by Duftite, however, select faces are essentially devoid of the Duftite coating which seems directioanlly deposited. The dark emerald Dioptase crystals and the green, matte textured Duftite makes for a sublime color and texture contrast. This is a pretty as well as interesting cluster of sharp-edged, rounded Dioptase crystals frosted with an attractive covering of microcrystalline Duftite. HIGHLY UNUSUAL and visually interesting specimen !
