Visually stunning, this is hallmark combination of Calcite crystals and bright, grassy green Duftite is from the historic Tsumeb Mine. The sharp, glassy, and gemmy Calcites range up to a very significant 3.7 cm on edge, and they can be found above and below a medial plate composed of fine crystals and Duftite. The Calcites have even more character than you normally see from Tsumeb. This is exemplified by the almost Mayan-like texture to their faces and the intricate, string-like zones of bright-orange fluorescence. There is just the smallest amount of microscopic wear that affects the quality not at all. The main photo shows, in no uncertain terms, just how aesthetic this small-cabinet specimen is. It is a truly fine example of a classic combination from the mine, unique in the world. It has more drama and isolation to the crystals than others we have seen over the years, and should be considered a very valuable and important example. Valued $2500-plus.
