Item Description

Rare, older wiluite from the Co-type Locality (both in the same area). Wiluite is a rare very complex silicate - a member of the Vesuvianite Group. The pristine sharp doubly terminated floater tetragonal crystal has two different terminations - one pinacoidal and the other pyramidal. The lustrous, blocky prism is a mottled olive-green. These crystals originally sold cheaply as vesuvianite, until they were determined to be a new species in 1997. This is an outstanding example of the rare species. We value it highly for age and quality. Similar have been seen at shows $1000-2000 these days, now that it is a new species.
