An exceptional willemite and calcite from the famous Sterling Mine. Four sharp willemite crystals and a crystal section are attractively set on the contrasting blocky massive calcite matrix. A dramatically placed, super sharp 3.4 cm doubly terminated crystal with a 1.9 cm terminated crystal immediately above dominate the piece. Another 3.4 cm crystal is adjacent to the large crystal and partially hidden with a terminated 1.3 cm crystal as an additional accent. The willemites have typical pinkish-brown color and much better than average lustre of Sterling Mine specimens. Neon-green willemite and dark red calcite SW UV fluorescence. Ex Ted Bartels Collection and acquired from the Gerstmann's (the label has been lost), well-known Franklin collectors and dealers with a private museum, dating from the early 1960s to 1980.
