DT Vivianite (excellent) ex Obodda

Item Description

This well-known Bolivian mine produced some the world's largest and finest vivianites from 1981 to 1992. A striking and beautiful, sharp, doubly terminated, indigo-blue to blue-green, 8.2 cm opaque prism with a fabulous, luminous textured face is aesthetically set on the matrix plate partially covered with sparkly golden pyrite microcrystals. This is a very fine stout laminated prism from this locale and is a Bolivian classic. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this excellent large piece at $850, more than 5 years ago. It is certainly worth more today.
