Item Description

A textbook, very glassy, partially translucent, rich golden-yellow doubly terminated tetragonal vesuvianite crystal from the famous Sierra de Cruces deposit, well-known for outstanding richly colored "raspberry" grossular garnets and fine vesuvianites, such as this. Complete all-around and pristine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection. Her label number was lost during the move, but the specimen box lists the locality as Lake Jaco, the locality attributed in the 1950s to 70s by California dealer, George Burnham, for first brought the specimens to market. George wanted to keep the locality a secret.
