Item Description
A sculptural and impressive large stacked cluster of doubly terminated and twinned calcite crystals from the famous Elmwood Mine. The very glassy, lustrous crystals have translucent straw-yellow to off-white interiors. Classic, desirable, light golden-amber gem terminations highlight each of the crystals. Most of the crystal tips are lightly cleaved and a trivial bit of edge wear is noted to the calcite on top. These are certainly only modest detractions to this very well designed stacked calcite crystal cluster. The attachment with sphalerite is at the base. Ex Kay Robertson Collection with no number. Kay purchased a selection of Elmwood calcites in the 1980s or 90s. The form of this fine two-sided piece is striking.
