Item Description

A sculptural and dramatic large intergrown cluster of doubly terminated and twinned calcite crystals with the highly desirable gemmy golden-amber terminations from the famous Elmwood Mine. This striking piece is highlighted by the dominating large termination on one end and the striking multitude of sharp terminations on the other end. Surprisingly, the multiple terminations are pristine. The large termination has only the most trivial of tip bruise and a nearby contact where another crystal once lay, but with no damage, per se. As a bonus, both sides are essentially pristine. Embedded snow-white baryte on the back and at the base are the contacts. Ex Kay Robertson Collection with no number. Kay purchased a selection of Elmwood calcites in the 1980s or 90s. The form of this fine two-sided piece is striking.
