Item Description
A very dramatic and aesthetic CABINET combination specimen from the famous and now-closed Elmwood Mine. A striking and beautiful, 8.3 cm, doubly terminated and twinned calcite crystal is elegantly perched on a wedge of lustrous, rubyjack sphalerite crystals. The gemmy and lustrous calcite crystal has a highly desirable, golden-amber termination and the tiny calcites peppered on the crystal and the two shards of attached limestone matrix are very nifty accents. The twinning planes on both sides are very prominent. The calcite is very nearly pristine, with only a very small cleave on the termination and a couple of trivial spots of edgewear. The overall aesthetics and presentation are stunning from either side, which is very uncommon for Elmwood calcites. Choice material from the Consie Prince. Get a REALLY GOOD one, while you can. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
