Item Description

A striking, large, bi-colored, doubly terminated spodumene from this noted locale and the Chris Korpi Colllection. He was a noted San Diego County pegmatite specialist until selling that subcollection. Most of the glassy gem crystal is a pretty light pink (kunzite) with the rest being yellow-green (triphane). The color variations are common for Beebe Hole spodumenes. One face of the well-striated, water-clear crystal is lightly frosted. Both terminations are very jagged, but have strikingly different forms and colors. The steeply offset kunzite termination is impressive and beautiful. Complete all-around and pristine. The back face is contacted, but has no damage, per se. This exceptional crystal is from the classic late 1970s finds here by Loren Beebe. 244 grams. Valued at $1250.
