Item Description

Mineral specimens of any species are uncommon from the pegmatites in this area and high quality smoky quartz specimens are rare. This is a sculptural floater cluster of limpid, parallel-growth, sharply terminated crystals with light smoky color. The highly lustrous crystals have glass-clear to frosted faces, some with striking stepped-growth. This is rare complete all-around and nearly pristine doubly terminated specimen. The base and one side are contacted, but are fully terminated with no damage. The two large termination tips are gently bruised, but have no impact to the overall high quality of this piece. Choice and rare smoky quartz from the Orellana Collection.
