Sri Lanka sapphires set the standard for form and quality of the species and this is gem of a 2-piece deal of highly desirable cornflower-blue crystals. The gemmy, doubly terminated, tapered, floater crystals are variable cornflower-blue. The typically layered crystals have clear (uncommon) pitted faces, that are embedded with clay. 57.53 carats total mass or 36.71 and 20.82 carats, respectively. Complete all-around and pristine. Classic form, desirable color and good gemminess. Not too many around these days. They are all heated, cut, and sold to the crazy Chinese market that is buying up as much as they can.
