Item Description
A rare, large doubly terminated barrel-shaped sapphire from this area in the southern Urals. Most corundum sapphire crystals from here have a tabular form. Classic cornflower-blue color, good lustre and typical layering characterize the crystal. The 2.5 cm sidecar crystal and attached bone-white matrix are fine accessories on this pristine, unusually formed, 360-degree Russian sapphire from the Chet Lemanski Collection. Outstanding for Russia!
