DT red gem Tourmaline (NEW find!)

A stunning, bi-colored, red gem tourmaline from a NEW January, 2011 find at the famous Cruzeiro Mine! The limpid body is a pleasing cranberry-pink and the complex pinacoidal termination is cranberry-red, like famous Jonas Mine tourmalines. The body and termination also have inclusions of lighter pink tourmaline. This crystal has an unusually scalloped termination, but no damage. This is technically a doubly terminated crystal. The base was broken and is admittedly, roughly rehealed. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, with only a bit of side wear at one spot. Red tourmalines have always been very highly desirable and here is your chance to get a real beauty from a brand-new find. 12 grams. This was ONE pocket.
