DT Manganoan Calcite, Calcite, Quartz & Pyrrhotite ex Obodda

Item Description

A 4.3 cm, stout nailhead manganoan calcite rhomb is jauntily set atop the mounded quartz and calcite matrix on this showy and aesthetic combination specimen from the famous Nikolaevskiy Mine. The lustrous and translucent crystal has pretty pastel-pink color and is partially doubly terminated. Part of the bottom is cleaved. A secondary overgrowth sheath of white stepped-growth calcite on the mangano adds character. The 1.8 cm quartz crystal and field of hexagonal pyrrhotite plates on one side adds pizzazz to this excellent piece with multiple display views. Pink fluorescence. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
