DT Kunzite (excellent intense lilac color) ex Obodda

A beautiful and blocky gemmy kunzite crystal from recent finds at Mawi, Afghanistan. Most of the very rich lilac-colored crystal is water-clear with very high luster, with a bit being translucent. The waxy luster, highly striated and frosted prism faces obscure the clarity of this fine example. The classic chisel termination is pristine on this doubly terminated crystal. The basal termination is etched, has some cleavelandite and the noted contacting here and on an adjacent prism have very little actual damage. The crystal has gorgeous lilac color, especially evident on the C-axis. A striking, blocky, sharply terminated and very colorful crystal. 68 grams masss.
