DT Hydroxylherderite xls (rare Brazil) Kay Robertson Coll.

Item Description

An incredibly rare and important intergrown cluster of doubly terminated Hydroxylherderite crystals from the famous Golconda mines. The glassy, highly lustrous, pseudo-orthorhombic or pseudo-hexagonal translucent crystals have tan bodies and gemmy, light brown terminations. This exceptional specimen probably dates to the 1950s to 1960s. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 11205 and acquired from Al McGuiness at the Tucson Show in 1987. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017).
