Item Description

The Stewart Mine is renowned for gorgeous, hot-pink tourmaline and this is a juicy miniature example. This is a gemmy, beautiful, intensely color-saturated pink tourmaline, amongst the finest in San Diego County. The scattered lavender lepidolites embedded in the sides add pizzazz. Both terminations are frosted and the lower one appears to be broken and healed. The bit of primary termination edge wear is a very modest detraction and is hardly noticeable. Contacting on one side near this end, has no damage, per se and is out-of-sight in the preferred display view. 35 grams. A classic, beautiful and highly desirable doubly terminated Stewart Mine tourmaline dating from the 1950s or 60s. Valued at $1250. Ex Bob Dawson Collection, son of the owner of the famous White Queen Mine.
