Item Description
A fine, sharp and uncommon gypsum crystal from this old and extinct Cu-Ni-Ag district. The doubly terminated textbook crystal has bright waxy luster with typical striated faces. Portions are water-clear or have veils. One side is cleaved, which really shows the clarity of the interior. One end is contacted where another crystal once lay, but there is no damage, per se here. From an East Coast collection and comes with a faded century-old label. The handwritten note on the label says there is a bubble in the interior, but we don't see it. A fascinating, old and rare style gypsum from this famous German locale.
