Item Description
Yellow-green beryl from the obscure and extinct Mack Mine is RARE. Most of the very glassy, doubly terminated, yellow-green crystal is limpid gem. One termination is strikingly translucent, yellow-white. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. Part of the basal termination (no damage) and the back of the crystal are contacted (minimal damage, with only an upper broken edge). A VERY RARE gem beryl from this pegmatite, that is now on Indian casino land. 33.55 carats or over 6 grams mass. Self-collected by Robert Bartsch in the late 1950s to early 1970s. He was a noted California field collector and collector. He passed away in 2014 and here is a link to a fine article written by his friend, Rock Currier: http://www.mindat.org/article.php/2158/Robert+Bartsch+++RIP++1939+to+2014. valued $250-300
