DT gemmy bi-colored Elbaite (Pala Intl. Coll.)

Item Description

A wonderful, large, 114 gram, old-style, doubly terminated, bi-colored elbaite from the Himalaya Mine. The classic "Himalaya pink" at the highly modified pinacoidal termination really adds pizzazz to this beauty. A light olive-green zone is followed by a sharp demarcation into a variably layered darker olive-green main section. A thin 8 mm pink zone follows and the basal termination is gorgeous, gem, apple-green, 3 mm thick. Pristine. One lower side has a contact, with no damage, per se. A classic and unusual Himalaya tourmaline. Ex. Pala International Company Collection and was for many years on display at their Fallbrook, California shop. Valued at $2000-2500.
