DT gem Rubellite on Muscovite (1978 find)

A fabulous and cute thumbnail combination from the greatest tourmaline find of all-time at the Jonas Mine in 1978. A 1.8 cm, doubly terminated, gemmy cranberry-red crystal is beautifully nestled against clusters of pearlescent muscovite plates. Thumbnail DT Jonas rubellites are very uncommon. The crystal is complete all-around and glows, when backlit. A termination edge and part of a prism face are contacted, but there appears to be very little damage, per se. A glorious 360-degree cutie from this famous find. This would easily be over $500, if perfect.
