Item Description

A gorgeous, gemmy and lustrous, doubly terminated lilac kunzite crystal from the famous Pala Chief Mine of California, source of the original kunzite. The lilac color on this one is outstanding and this is cutting-grade material, throughout. It dates to the Kunz era of gem exploration in the county in the early 1900s. The striking angled termination looks weirdly twinned. Complete all-around. One side edge is partially contacted and cleaved. An old classic! 28 grams mass. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. The 1.9 cm label on the side with 3 lines of superb printing is from an older collection, that Belksy's documents related was auctioned in 1908! $10.00 was EXPENSIVE in 1908! Value??? A MUST for the species or locality collector!
