Item Description
A sharp, large, doubly terminated, floater fluorapatite crystal from this famed Ontario area. The highly lustrous, textbook hexagonal, variegated brown crystal has nifty areas of translucent juicy, apple-green, gemminess and this crystal has more translucence, than most you see from here. The rounded pinacoidal terminations add pizzazz. In excellent shape. Two clean repairs are noted, which is certainly acceptable in the context of this piece. From an East Coast collection. Undoubtedly older material, but no proof. Probably from the famous old Turner's Island Mine or the Miller property in the Bancroft area. The collection label stating Hastings County is probably incorrect. An excellent Ontario classic.
