Item Description
A fantastic, pristine sharp, floater, cyclic-twinned miniature titanite crystal from this less well-known Tyrol locale. Titanite specimens are known from here, but seldom in this oustanding quality. One end of the doubly terminated, lustrous crystal is a gemmy, very glassy rich orange. The middle section is yellow-green and the other end is coated-with and included with chlorite. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 11559 and acquired from Brad van Scriver in July,1988. He had traded out this old fine piece from a University of Salzburg professor in January, 1988. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). An exceptional colorful titanite from this locale. Every turn presents a dramatically different and colorful perspective to this cutie.
