DT floater Quartz xls (Nowakowski Coll.)

Item Description

High quality quartz crystals from this long-abandoned Ontario quartz mine are seldom on the market. The mine opened in 1951. The impressive steeply doubly terminated, slightly tapered, floater crystals are water-clear. Some sides and termination faces are preferentially frosted or have light etching, adding interest. The large crystal is pristine. One side has a contact, where another crystal once lay, but there is no damage, per se. The small crystal has only a trivial bit of bruising. Fascinating and rare quartz from the Robert Nowakowski Collection. Previously in the Edna Doughty Collection and probably dates to the 1950s or 1960s.
