Item Description

An EXCELLENT, doubly terminated epidote crystal from a MUCH LESS well-known Nevada locale - Hawthorne, Mineral County. This glassy, very gently tapering, parallel-growth crystal has gorgeous zones of gemmy, olive-green fire and most interesting terminations. One, lustrous termination is a modified pinacoid and has a nifty, single, gemmy epidote crystal embedded in it. The other termination is highly complex and is covered with gemmy, smaller epidote crystals. A facinating crystal, nearly pristine, with only a couple of broken smaller crystals on the richly covered termination. Barely noticeable and certainly not a detraction. Ex Jaime Bird Collection.
