A fabulous, old-time, combination classic from the Ala Valley of Italy of a pristine, flattened, lustrous and translucent, doubly terminated, light green diopside crystal supremely accented with an incredibly well-placed "mushroom" of orange hessonite grossular garnets. Essonite is an old-time synonym for hessonite. This old-timer comes with an expertly written, faded accession label from an old museum collection we traded into (dating to prior to World War I). Valued at $400 for rarity and quality of the association in this size.
