Item Description
Two striking large pristine doubly terminated, translucent, frosted calcite crystals are dramatically set on the sculptural matrix on this outstanding large specimen from the basalt deposits at Irai. The impressive upper crystal is 10.7 cm long and the lower crystal is 9.2 cm long. The contrasting green Celadonite coatings (a MIcaa Group species) on the bizarre looking 3-dimensional mounded thin quartz crust PLUS the rich sprinkling of RARE tiny radiating Hematite spheres and sections adds real color and character to this artistic large combination. Pink fluorescence. Common in the 1980s and 90s, you don't see many calcites around anymore in this combination quality and size from Irai. This outstanding large specimen is from my calcite collection assembled in the 1990s to 2000s.
