DT Calcite twin (rare - excellent) Trimingham Coll.

Item Description

A rare and oustanding calcite from this well-known district. A 3.9 cm, mostly transparent, doubly terminated and twinned crystal is dramatically perched atop smaller calcites. Complete all-around and in good shape, for such an old-timer. The left tip is slightly bruised and you can hardly see the bruise in the top line of the twinning plane. Minor orpiment and realgar are noted on the calcite, with much more on the matrix. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and described as a very old specimen, originally from the Inglesby Collection. Choice and rare material. A MUST for the species or locality collector.
