Item Description

Two, striking and beautiful pretty light amber, doubly terminated and twinned calcite crystals with excellent luster, translucence and stepped-growth faces are dramatically set on the matrix of smaller, colorless, rounded dogtooth and rhombic calcites. The impressive large crystal is 6.8 cm and the smaller one is 3.3 cm long. Both are nearly pristine, with only gentle edge wear. The Raul Orellana Collection label lists the Santa Amelia Mine at Reocin, Cantabria, but MINDAT does not list this locale. This outstanding and most aesthetic specimen closely resembles calcite from the nearby La Cuerre Mine in Cantabria.
