DT Calcite on Galena cuboctahedrons

A beautiful, gemmy and lustrous, 4.8 cm, doubly terminated, calcite scalenohedron is aesthetically perched on the side of a mound of lustrous, battleship-gray galena cuboctahedrons. The pleasing light amber color and dense stepped-growth faces on the prism faces really add character to this excellent and classic combination piece from the famous Sweetwater Mine. The calcite is very nearly pristine, with only very trivial termination and edge bruising. This fine two-sided piece displays well from either side without aid.
