DT Calcite, marcasite & Sphalerite on Galena (Mullane Coll.)

Item Description

Two, doubly terminated, glassy, amber, calcite crystals to 5.3 cm are very aesthetically perched atop intergrown, blocky, fortification galena cubes peppered with brassy marcasite crystals and a few, tiny, gemmy, burnt-orange, rubyjack sphalerite crystals. One end of the large calcite is lightly cleaved and gently bruised, but has minimal impact on the displayability of this fine piece. Classic, old-time and showy combination material from the famed Joplin Field and the Dennis Mullane Collection. Heavy lead at 960 grams or 2.1 pounds.
