Item Description
A very dramatic, elongated, large combination specimen from the famous mines at Madan. An impressive, pristine, 5.9 cm, doubly terminated calcite scalenohedron with extreme stepped-growth faces dominates this aesthetic specimen. Splendent, sharp, cuboctahedral galena crystals to 1.5 cm are supremely accented at the other end of the piece by a striking cluster of mirror-bright, brass-yellow, stepped-growth, pyrite pyritohedrons to 1.5 cm. The calcite looks like a flocked Christmas tree! Complete all-around and esstentially pristine. The very minimal contacting is along one edge of the galenas. This fine piece is outstanding in form and combination for Madan. Value?
