Item Description
Natural blue quartz is VERY RARE worldwide, with one of the few known localities being in the Precambrian Llano Uplift of Central Texas (the famous Llanite dike). This stunning and rare example is from an unknown Minas Gerais pegmatite and is dramatically and richly embedded-with and included-with tourmaline crystals! The gem quartz crystals have beautiful aqua-blue color and the striking large crystal is doubly terminated. Sections and needles of lustrous, olive-green to black tourmalines, to 6.8 cm, are everwhere, especially on the contacted back, where crystals are festooned. We have never seen a Brazilian quartz of this color, style and combination richness. The former (1980s) dealer label has a $1000 price. From an East Coast collection. This amazing and possibly unique piece is certainly worth more today.
