Item Description

A gemmy and lustrous, doubly terminated, bi-colored tourmaline from the famous Himalaya Mine. Most of this striated, stout beauty is classic "Himalaya pink", with an interior zone of yellow-green just below one of the terminations. The pinacoidal termination (above the green zone) is very glassy, water-clear gem. The faces of the modified pinacoidal termination at the other end are lightly frosted and are dramatically embellished by the pristine, bladed cleavelandite "sail". Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only trivial termination edge wear and side wear. Classic and most excellent older material from the 1970s or 80s. 81 grams. Valued at $2500-3000. A fine spiker for this auction.
