Item Description
A very fine tourmaline from the most famous tourmaline locality in Pakistan. This doubly terminated, very nearly pristine, floater crystal features several color zones: the lower termination is a gemmy, pastel-pink followed by a pretty apple-green zone; progesssively darker olive-green strikingly terminates at the healed fracture, causing the crystal to bend slightly; and the beautiful large, pyramidal, translucent termination area is a glorious vivid pink, which reminds me of classic "Himalaya pink" tourmalines. The partial cleavelandite collar with smaller tourmalines is a super accent. The prism, itself, is highly lustrous and well-striated. The only damage to this beauty is a bit of trivial side wear and lower termination bruising. This is a great display piece and a wonderful pegmatite specimen from a classic locality. These pieces are becomingly increasingly difficult to find in today"s market and is from the famous mid-80s finds. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Valued at $1500-1750.
