Item Description
A gemmy and rare, bi-colored, doubly terminated, floater sapphire crystal from the Irv Brown Thumbnail Collection. This cutie is uncommonly gemmy at the terminations and has almost no striated faces, as most Ratnapura sapphires have. The water-clear terminations have beautiful sapphire-blue color grading to colorless, with a translucent area in the middle. The crystal has textbook hexagonal form and is not flattened. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a trivial bit of edge wear on one termination. Very choice and rare material. 12.83 carats or 2.5 grams.
