Item Description
The Malkhan pegmatites have produced many very fine, translucent to opaque elbaites in recent years. This outstanding doubly terminated, bi-colored, floater crystal has strikingly different terminations! The amazing, gemmy/translucent, pretty pink end has a myriad of sparkly, stepped-growth terminations. The lustrous, matte, pinacoid termination is a dark cranberry-red. The crystal has very high luster, glassiness and is well-striated. The backlit shot GLOWS golden-amber with the interaction of the red and pink! Complete all-around and nearly pristine. One edge has just a bit of bruising. Fantastically sculptural and highly unusual. 110 grams mass. Valued at $2000. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
