Item Description

A striking and excellent old-time barite combination from Egremont. The impressive, doubly terminated, sharply spearpointed, tabular, floater crystal is translucent, grayish-white to oxide-tinted red and has serrated edges. The clusters of dolomite rhombs in the center are a super accent. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a gently bruised termination. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection, and from the Carl Bosch and Smithsonian Collections dating it back to pre-1900, according to his label. Very fine, classic combination material.
