DT Aquamarine with Schorl (Charlie Key)

An impressive, 7.2 cm, doubly terminated aquamarine crystal is richly and aesthetically wrapped in smaller aquas and a multitude schorl needles on this showy and excellent combination specimen from the Charlie Key dealer stock. The gemmy and lustrous, blue-gray, aquas have crackly interiors with the typical gemmier termination areas. There are even rare green areas to some of the smaller aquas. The large, doubly terminated crystal faces are offset by the girdle near the middle of the crystal. The girdle of aqua, schorl and feldspar must hide a break and rehealing zone. The sharp cleft in the upper termination is filled with angled schorl crystals as an addtional striking accent.
