Item Description

Chiastolite is an uncommon variety of andalusite containing cross-shaped inclusions of carbon. It is very rare from the famous Broken Hill deposit. This striking, very large, complete all-around and pristine, doubly terminated crystal has the typical cross-shaped or fluted look of chiastolite crystals. The pointed termination is very unusual. Extremely rare in this size and quality from this noted locale. Ex Richard Hauck Collection.
