Item Description
A sharp, lustrous, 2.8 cm doubly terminated almandine garnet crystal is jauntily set on the edge of shimmering, layered chlorite schist matrix on this VERY RARE old-timer from this extinct pyrite mine. The crystal is mostly dark brown with classic streaks of reddish-brown. There are NO almandine examples in the MINDAT Photo Gallery of the obscure Massachusetts locale.
