Druzy Quartz on Baryte

Item Description

Sculptural, rich and scarce large combination specimen of aesthetically intergrown baryte spearpoints covered with sparkly, sugary druzy quartz from the less well-known lead-zinc-fluorite Taolin Mine of Hunan, China. The striking large blades are up to 5.1 cm on edge. In great shape, overall, with only one broken tertiary crystal noted on the lower left. The mine is better known for fluorite and sphalerite specimens. 837 grams or 1.8 pounds mass. The Taolin Mine was commercially active from 1956 to 2001, making this very fine older and uncommon Chinese baryte from the locale.
