Item Description

Romanechite is a relatively uncommon barium, manganese oxide. This outstanding, two-sided CABINET specimen features scintillating drusy quartz covering the 3-dimensional, botryoidal and banded romanechite matrix. This excellent piece is from a very uncommon New Mexico locality near Lordsburg, Hidalgo County. Ex Bob Lane (who collected it) and Evan Jones, and Dave Stoudt Collections. According to the Stoudt"s catalogue and label, they paid $500 for this piece in 2003 from me, and I had just obtained it in trade from Evan Jones out of his well known Arizona collection.
