Drusy Quartz on Barite (Whitmore Coll.)

Item Description

A sculptural, cabinet vug is beautifully and richly lined with blocky baryte crystals to 2.6 cm coated completely with sparkly, sugary drusy quartz. You can hardly tell from the two display views, that the end of the large barite is chipped. These are quite distinctive and should become Nevada classics in the future. This is an excellent example from this well known single find of this style in March, 2000. The pocket, zone, level and drift are shown on the label. This underground gold mine was abandoned in 2006.
