Item Description
I've only seen a handful of these crystals, but they are distinct and interesting for what they are. First off, these are confirmed Dravite Tourmaline which is an important distinction in my mind, as it's a rare species and it's not something like Elbaite. Secondly, they have a fascinating and rarely seen "root beer" color, which is one of the rarest colors for any Tourmaline species. This piece is a fine quality, very sharp, well-formed, highly lustrous trigonal prism, but the kicker is that it's incredibly GEMMY (virtually water clear) when backlit. If you collect gem crystals or specifically Tourmalines, you can't miss out on this strange and intriguing specimen from Tanzania. Specimen weight is 3.7 grams.
