Item Description
This deceptive sharp dodecahedral crystal with trapezohedral faces is actually a Dravite Tourmaline and not a Garnet species. Dravite is well-known from this locality and has furnished some of the finest and largest examples of the species. The lustrous dark brown crystal has striking beautiful golden-yellow translucent areas under bright light. Complete all-around and in good shape. This sharp 360-degree crystal does have some corner and edge bruising, but they are mostly out-of-sight in the primary display views. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. This showy, highly representative example has textbook crystal form. Fairly uncommon today.
