Item Description

Beautifully luminous rich mahogany-brown color on this striking 360-degree, densely stepped, parallel-growth, trigonal tourmaline crystal. The rare tourmaline is from a 2018 new find at this obscure Espirito Santo State locale. Tourmaline is not listed in the MINDAT locale. The crystal is Dravite (brown color)-Schorl. The modified pyramidal termination is highly lustrous. Complete all-around and in great shape. The bit of noted side wear has minimal impact to this cutie. Specimens would have to be analyzed for a definitive composition result, but are probably a combination of dravite and schorl. The specimen appears to be black SCHORL in some photos, depending on lighting type, background and incidence. BUT, other photographic parameters reveal the beautiful mahogany color (Dravite) of the piece. 35 grams mass.
