A dramatic large cluster, like a flower of quartz centered around a single pseudo-cubic crystal of feldspar! It is complete all around and simply a dynamic and beautiful piece composed of only two otherwise common species. Quartz, Feldspar, as species are probably the most common minerals we can get and yet, in combination like this become a lot more interesting! The quartz crystals are to 3 cm, and complete all around. The Meieran collection was famous for fancy gem crystals and huge aquamarines and tourmalines, of course - but Gene also loves the full spectrum of crystals from this part of the world, and aggressively collected beautiful combination pieces such as this, which stand out from others. Worthy of a place on a shelf next to "fancy" gem species because of its dynamic style. Note this is mine-run, cleaned with water but not otherwise cleaned with chemicals to brighten the quartz and make it more shiny, so it would benefit from a trip to the cleaning labs.
